Summary: The fact that this book was written in 1998 could be misleading but this book still has lots to offer and is perfect “go to” book for ESL teachers that are just starting out in the classroom. This book has a 4 out of 5 stars review on Amazon, and contains simple yet highly effective language activities that are engaging for kids of all ages.
- One of the best parts of this book is its thoroughness. It’s definitely written for a teacher that needs step-by-step guidance and clear instruction. Each activity clearly states the age group that it’ll work best with, the items that the teacher may need and the speaking level that it’s appropriate with. The activities vary from worksheets to outside playground games and are really great for helping shy students to get outside of their comfort zones and begin to speak English!
- This book also comes with a convenient checklist of grammatical structures and language structures along with tips on how to run an ESL classroom as smoothly and effectively as possible.
